There are several ways to download files from the system:
via the toolbox
via quick download on a file's tile
via the shopping cart (with additional download options)
Use the toolbox or quick download if you want to download individual files quickly and without making any changes.
Use the shopping cart if you want to collect files first, edit them before downloading, or prepare them for a download package or eTicket.

Where are my files downloaded to?
After you initiate a download, the system prepares the files in the background. Your browser automatically starts the download and saves the files to the default download folder on your computer, e.g., "Downloads".
You can view the status of your download in the sidebar's File transfers.
If you download multiple files, a .zip file is automatically created.
β
Traffic Lights & Digital Rights
The use of files may be restricted in your system, which you can recognize, for example, by a traffic light.
In this case, downloading a file may only permitted after agreeing to the terms of use, or not permitted at all. These restrictions may also be role-dependent.

Behavior of the shopping cart after downloading
Depending on the configuration of your user role, downloaded files are either automatically removed from the shopping cart or remain there.
You can customize this behavior in your user profile (Profile > System settings > File transfers):
Available download profiles
The selection offered to you in the pop-up window with the available download profiles depends on your file selection and your usage rights:
Multiple files:
Some download profiles are only available for certain file types. If you have different file types in your selection, the system will only offer you the download profiles that are applicable to all selected files.
No selection made (shopping cart):
If you have not selected a profile for a file in the shopping cart, the system automatically uses the default profile (default: "Original").
No selection available:
For file types that cannot be converted, a profile selection is not available. The download then takes place automatically in the "Original" profile.
If your role does not allow you to download the original, a reserve profile is used automatically β usually the first available profile for your role.
