Admins can enable the Dashboard module in two ways.
Choose the appropriate method depending on whether the Dashboard should be visible the Mega Menu to all users or only to specific roles.
Please note
Always use only one of the two methods. Do not first enable the Dashboard globally and then hide it again for individual roles.
Show Dashboard to all users
Use this way if you want all users to be able to view and use dashboards:
In the Administration section, open Module configurations.
On the left, open the Dashboard module.
Open the Native permissions admin snap-in.
For the main menu entry, select the option "Yes, shown by default".
Save your changes.
Apply changes
Clear the configuration cache.
Users who are already logged in may need to log in again.
This way, all users will see the dashboard in the Mega Menu under "General".
Show Dashboard for selected roles
Use this method if you want only certain roles to be able to view and use dashboards:
Step 1: Display the Dashboard in the Role Configuration
In the Administration section, open Module configurations.
On the left, open the Dashboard module.
Open the admin snap-in Module definition.
Toggle the "Show module in role configuration" switch.
Save your changes.
Apply changes
Clear the configuration cache.
Then log in again.
Step 2: Enable the Dashboard for the desired roles
Open the admin snap-in Role configuration.
โGeneral system configurations > User settings > Role configurationSelect a role that should be able to view the Dashboard module, e.g. "Marketing".
Open the "Role-based module settings" tab.
Enable module access and the main menu entry.
Assign the permissions this role requires, e.g., View, Edit, Create.
Save your changes.
Repeat these steps for each role that should see the Dashboard module.
Apply changes
Clear the configuration cache.
Users who are already logged in may need to log in again.
Grant access only where necessary
If only selected roles should see the Dashboard module, carefully review the settings for other roles and ensure no unnecessary access is enabled.
Deactivate module access and the main menu entry.
Important Notes
Always enable the Dashboard for all users via Native permissions.
If you display the Dashboard module via Module definition, carefully review and enable the permissions for each role. "Default" may also mean that no permissions have been assigned.
You can view the values associated with "Default" under Native permissions.
What applies to the Dashboard Widgets module?
In the module configurations, you will also see the "Dashboard Widgets" module. This module is a technical support module running in the background. Generally, you do not need to change anything there.
