Restoring Deleted Objects

Here's what you can do if you want to restore deleted objects

If you have accidentally deleted a file, collection, or other object, you cannot restore it via the 4ALLPORTAL interface.

Please contact your administrator directly. Depending on your system's configuration, deleted objects may be restored internally.

What the admin can do

Deleted objects generally remain in the 4ALLPORTAL database for up to 30 days. During this time, objects can often be reactivated. After that, they are automatically and permanently deleted.

Cloud systems

For cloud systems, the database is hosted by 4ALLPORTAL.

If you need to restore a deleted object, contact the 4ALLPORTAL support team. They will handle the reactivation.

On-premises systems

For on-premises systems with their own database, restoration can be performed internally.

Administrators or technical contacts with access to the database can restore the deleted object by changing the value from deleted=1 to deleted=0.

Important notes

  • The sooner you request or perform a restore, the better.

  • Once the retention period expires, deleted objects are permanently deleted.

  • The retention period can be customized for each module and may differ from the default of 30 days.

➡️ Next steps

  • User: If you need to restore a deleted object, contact your administrator.

  • Administrator (Cloud systems): Contact the 4ALLPORTAL support team if you need to restore a deleted object.

  • Administrator (On-premises systems): Determine if the restoration can be performed internally using your database.

"Deleted objects" admin snap-in

As an admin, you can view deleted objects for each module in the "Deleted objects" admin snap-in. However, you cannot restore them directly.

Module configurations > Module > Deleted objects

Double-click on an object to view all its details. This allows you to note the display name and the original path, for example, so you can provide this information to the 4ALLPORTAL support team.

You also have the option to permanently delete objects. Once deleted, they cannot be restored.

the "Deleted objects" admin snap-in is available for each module
