Administrators can set up a fixed upload folder for a role to provide guided data handling during import.
If enabled, files uploaded via drag & drop or quick upload are automatically loaded into the specified destination folder. This enables you to control the destination folder to which users upload their files for each role.
Please note
Administrator rights are required for configuration.
This does not change the folder structure. Users can still upload to any upload folder via the folder structure.
Configure an upload folder
To set up a fixed upload folder for drag & drop or quick upload, follow these steps:
Open the admin snap-in General System Configuration > User Settings > Role configuration.
Select a user role and switch to the "Role-based module settings" tab.
In the module overview, scroll to the "Folders" module and click on its label.
The permissions pop-up will open.
In the "Feature Permissions" tab, check whether the "Allow upload to folder" permission is active.
Switch to the "Presets" tab. In field "Upload folder of this role", click on the button
.A folder selection pop-up opens with all available upload folders.
Select the folder to which this role is allowed to upload via drag & drop or quick upload. You can only select one folder.
Click "Add selection" and then save your entries.
For the changes to take effect, users need to log out of the system and log back in.
