Uploading archives such as ZIP, 7z or RAR saves you having to unpack them manually on your computer.
You can upload and unpack files in a single step. The contained folder structure is adopted.

Upload archives
You can use all available upload methods to upload archives:
Select one or more archives from your computer. You can also select individual files and archives together.
Select your upload method:
Drag and drop the files into the system
User the quick upload in the header.
User the upload option in a specific upload folder.
If you have a fixed upload folder, the upload starts directly.
If you do not have a fixed upload folder, a pop-up opens in which you can select an upload folder.
The upload will start in the background. You can see the progress at the bottom right in the status area of the footer.
The archive pop-up opens and you have several options.
Options in the archive pop-up
You have the following options in the archive pop-up:
"Unpack archive": unpacks a single archive and imports the files
"Unpack all archives": unpacks all archives and imports the files
"Import archives without unpacking": imports the archives without unpacking
"Import all files": Starts the import of unpacked content and unpacked archives
Please note
You will only see the "Import all files" button instead of "Import archives without unpacking" once an archive has been unpacked.
Technical notes
The folder structure in the archive is retained during unpacking. Empty folders are ignored.
Supported archive formats: .zip, .7z, .rar, .arj, .gz, .bz2, .xz, .wim
Archive formats such as .wim or certain .rar types may not be usable on Linux servers.
If unzipping is not possible, the corresponding button will not be displayed.

Can I still unzip an archive after uploading it?
No, unzipping is only possible during the upload. Afterwards, you will need to upload the archive again in order to unzip it. You can still manage archives as file objects.Why can't I unzip an archive?
It may be a format that is not supported on your server (e.g., Linux). In this case, the unzip button is disabled.
