The global search allows you to find objects from different modules particularly quickly. As you type, you will receive relevant suggestions that you can access directly.
You can find the global search in the system header:

By default, the global search includes the Files, Collections, Contacts and Companies modules.
Object names, collection descriptions and email addresses are included.
Please note
The global search is enabled for all users by default.
An administrator can restrict the function to specific modules and fields, or hide it entirely, for each role.
Performing a global search
Click inside the global search field of the system header.
Enter your search term.
As you type, the system displays a list of results.
If there are multiple entries, you can scroll through the list.
Click on a list entry or press "Enter" to open the object directly in its detail view.
Clicking "Enter" always opens the selected object. The results list of the global search cannot be opened in the main view.

What is the difference between the global search and the search filter?

No, you cannot filter the results of the global search. Use the search filter in the relevant module for this purpose.Why don't I get any results when I enter keywords?
The global search can be configured so that the "Keywords" metadata field is not taken into account.
