The search and filter function allows you to find files or records quickly and specifically. You can use individual terms or combinations and, if desired, apply several filters at the same time to further narrow down your results.
This is particularly helpful if you are working with many files or complex data structures and want to search for specific content.
You can find the search and filter functions in each module on the left side of the main view, e.g., in the
"Files" module:

Please note
The fields displayed in the search depend on your access rights and the individual configurations of your system.
If you have any questions, please contact your administrator.
Available search filters
The filter area is located to the left of a module's main view. Depending on the module and user rights, various search fields are available, e.g.:
global (comprehensive) search: finds content in metadata and file names
File type: filters by file formats such as JPEG or PDF
Full-text search: finds files with the specified content
As soon as you start filtering, you will see the first results in the main view. Active filters are highlighted in color.
Depending on the configuration, more than one search filters may be available in the search display. You can select the search filters from a drop-down menu:
If you want to save a frequently used filter or use a filter that has already been saved or shared, use the "Saved filters" function.
Search fields
Various field types are available in the filter area. You can make different entries depending on the search criteria and configuration.
The following field types are available:
Text fields
Enable the direct entry of terms, e.g., search terms or descriptions in text form.
Typeahead fields
These text fields suggest suitable entries as you type.
Drop-down menus
Drop-down menus for selecting a predefined value from a list.
Checkboxes (square)
Selection fields that allow multiple selections, e.g., for filtering multiple file formats such as JPEG, PNG, and INDD.
Radio buttons (round)
Selection fields that allow only one entry, e.g., for filtering the orientation of an image.
Switches
Simple yes/no selection.
Calendar fields
Allow the selection of a date via a calendar view, e.g., to filter by the date an image was taken.
Pop-up windows

to open a selection window. Checkboxes allow multiple selections, radio buttons allow a single value.
Pop-up "File type" with multiple selection
Use folders as search filters
In the Files module, you can also link your search directly to a specific folder from the folder structure. Only results from the selected folders will then be suggested.
To do this, select the desired folders using the checkboxes in the folder structure.
Search behavior
If you use multiple search fields at the same time (e.g., file type and image orientation), a result will only be displayed if it meets all the conditions set. All activated search fields therefore work together.
If you select multiple values in one search field (e.g., the JPEG and PNG checkboxes for file type), a result will be displayed even if it meets at least one of the selected conditions. The search filter has an OR link.
If you enter multiple terms in a text field, you can separate them with spaces or commas.
Please note
The exact separation logic between the terms depends on the configuration of your system. In many cases, a space is sufficient for the terms to be interpreted as separate search alternatives.
Performing a search
To start a search, proceed as follows:
Input
Enter your search term in a text field or open a drop-down menu or pop-up window to select a value.
Combine multiple fields
Enter additional values to other search fields or select predefined options.
Start the search
Per default, the search starts automatically as soon as you make an entry. Alternatively, you can manually click the "Search" button.
Use the "Reset" button to delete all entries and filter values.
